A RAUNCHY Thai ‘net idol’ has been charged by cops after performing a nude strip show live on Facebook. Ponpan Mayple Promdum, 26, had more than 150,000 people tuning in as she performed a sexy dance in silver underwear on her bed.
But during the live stream to promote a betting website the model stunned viewers – including children – when she removed her clothes. The footage went viral and was seen by police who arrested the ‘product reviewer’ on computer crime charges.
Ponpan, who uses the name Mayple Pink Pink, made a grovelling apology on Wednesday after admitting violating Thailand’s Computer Crime Act. The shamed model accepted £11 fine for distributing and profiting from indecent material.
She said: ”I do not want other net idol pretties and models to fall into the same trap as me. ”I am very sorry for damaging the image of Thai women and I will not do this again. I hope that people can forgive me.”
Mayple said she was paid £70 to perform a 30 minute sexy show to promote a gambling page. Lt. Col. Santapet Nhootong of the Technology Crime Suppression Division said she the model had accepted the fine when she was brought into the police station in Bangkok.
He said: ”We charged her, and she confessed to all the charges that she did it.” The police chief said that officers would be monitoring Facebook Live for other raunchy routines. Performing dances over Facebook is a common side-line for amateur models in Thailand. The girls can reportedly earn up to £5,000 a month for only a couple of hours work a day.
