때는 1513년, 한 지방 고을에서 새로운 사또가 부임하게 된다. 이방은 사또 에게 잘 보이기 위해, 이 고을을 전통이라며 당대 가장 핫한 기생인 “명월”을 사또의 방에 밀어 넣는다. 사또는 명월을 보는 순간 빠져들고 두 사람은 그렇게 뜨거운 밤을 보내기 시작하고 그렇게 절정의 다다르던 사또는 그만 명월에게 안긴 채 복상사로 운명을 달리한다.
